Thanksgiving = First Round of Announcement

We had our Day 1 of a 2-Day Thanksgiving event at Jenny’s (Amy’s cousin) house, followed by Day 2 of the Thanksgiving event at my parents’ house in Riverside.  We’ve made the announcement to our parents towards the end of the day, and they were both very excited to hear the good news.

For now, we are only spreading the ‘good news’ to our immediate family members only.  We’ll see how well the ‘secret’ can be kept.

The First to Find Out

Just like last time when Amy was pregnant with Addison, my brother Chris was the first person to found out about Amy’s pregnancy.  But this time, my announcement was made via Instant Messaging, with him, while he’s in Egypt.  Since he’s current on vacation in Egypt, with Phoebe, I wasn’t sure if I will be able to get in touch with him again by Thanksgiving, while he’s traveling around.  Therefore, I decided to let him know ahead of time.

It’s Still a Secret!

My Mom just flew back from Hong Kong a few days ago, along with Grandma.  Yesterday, I took Amy and Addison to my Mom’s house to visit them.  We have decided not to tell anyone about the pregnancy until Thanksgiving, which is in a months’ time.  Still, the first round of announcement is still limited to immediate family members.  We can’t wait to tell them the good news!

Not Really Our First Doctor’s Visit

But it is our first OB/GYN visit for this, still unconfirmed, pregnancy.

Another urine test confirmed our speculation… we are having another child!

Dr. Chen didn’t give us an ultra-sound this time, but instead, he told us that we will get our ultra-sound during our next visit in a month.  According to Dr. Chen, everything is still too early to be seen.  Although we both were certain that we had our Ultra-sound during our visit to Dr. Kwon and/or Dr. Chen last time.  A quick look at Golden Little Piggy’s archive reveals that when we first met Dr. Kwon, Amy was almost 2 months pregnant by then.  Currently, we are still only a bit more than a month into this pregnancy.

“Do you know when is the Due Date?”  Dr. Chen asked.

Amy guessed August/September.

I guessed September, 2012.

It’s July 20, 2009, according to that little handy tool that Dr. Chen carries.

And since Amy had to have a Caesarean Section last time, she will be having another Caesarean this time around.  I guess Dr. Chen doesn’t do VBAC.

So Dr. Chen told us to pick a date for the Caesarean Section, approximately 1 week before the Due Date of July 20, except for the weekends.  We are to tell him our Date-selection later into the pregnancy.

Meanwhile, due to Amy’s age, Dr. Chen referred us back to the Genetic Counseling office for additional tests and evaluations.  (Our appointment is not until January.)

Our next visit is in a month’s time, right before Christmas.

It’s Déjà Vu All Over Again!

The words that a certain population of men still fear to this day…

“Honey, I’m pregnant!”

I didn’t hear it the first time because it wasn’t presented to me in those exact manner/tone/words.  And I still didn’t hear those exact words this time around.  Instead, Amy creatively asked me if she should use the remaining Pregnancy Test Kit that was left over from the first time, before it expires in a few weeks.

“Sure!”  I said.

And now I’m preparing another pregnancy blog for us.
